Well, you will have to open the store app and search for the browser manually. You no longer need to use Edge as a middleman to get Opera’s browser, which the company itself scoffed at. The only benefit is when you install the browser from scratch, on a clean install of Windows, or want to uninstall and reinstall it. If you are a regular user, you might want to get it from the Store to keep your browser up to date automatically, although the standalone version offers the same convenience. Nonetheless, I gave the Opera GX Store app a boost and had no issues with it. Did you know that Microsoft is replacing this screen with the Settings app? Read our previous coverage for more details. In fact, the app even shows up on the Programs and Features page of Control Panel, if you need further confirmation on both versions. However, Opera GX’s store app is identical to its usual navigation and uses the same profile. The Microsoft Store version of Firefox uses a different user profile and allows you to run the app with the stand-alone desktop version. Opening the About Opera page confirms that the application is indeed the 64-bit version, it corresponds to the latest stable version, Opera_GX_.44. The application is free and its download is approximately 106.2MB, which is roughly the size of the offline installer for the 64-bit version of the program. The browser is available for Windows 10 and 11. Now Opera has rolled out its games-centric browser, Opera GX, to the Microsoft Store. Last month, Mozilla joined the competition by releasing Firefox on the store. The Opera browser debuted in the Microsoft Store, alongside the Yandex browser, when the new Store Experience was announced by Redmond Company in September.
